  • Enabling "Constant Recordings" on the Outdoor Camera

    The outdoor camera comes pre-installed with a 64gb MicroSD card which allows it to record video events constantly.

    To enable these Constant Events, log into the Protect America app and select Video. Then select the camera you want to have Constant Recordings enabled and then select Add SD Card and follow the onscreen prompts.

  • Camera Offline/Updating Wi-Fi Information on the Outdoor Camera

    If you change your Wi-Fi password, Wi-Fi name, or receive a new router, your camera will go Offline. The new Wi-Fi information will need to be added to the camera for it to be online.

    Log into the Protect America App and then select Settings. Select Edit Camera and select the camera you want to update the Wi-Fi on. Next, select Update Network Connection and choose from of the following three methods of updating the Wi-Fi:

    • Connect Via IP
      1. Unplug the camera and take it and it's power cord to your Wi-Fi router
      2. Connect an Ethernet cord to the back of the camera and to one of the 4 Ethernet ports on the back of your router
      3. Plug in the power to the camera and wait 30 seconds for the camera to beep
      4. Enter in your Wi-Fi network name and password on the app and then select Check Connection
      5. Wait 2 -3 minutes for the camera to connect to the Wi-Fi network

    • Connect via WPS
      1. While the camera is powered up, press and hold the white Reset button on the camera cord for 2 - 3 seconds
      2. Then press and hold the WPS button on your router for 2 - 3 seconds
      3. Wait 2 -3 minutes for the camera to connect to the Wi-Fi network

  • Linking the Camera to Record on Alarms

    The camera has the functionality to record video when an alarm is triggered on your alarm system. To enable this, you will need to log into the alarm system website by selecting Alarm Control above or by clicking this link here. The login credentials are the same as the application.

    Once logged into the website, select Camera Settings, then the camera you wish to link to the alarm system. Then select Edit, then General Settings.

    Lastly, check mark each device/option you want to trigger camera recordings, then Save.

  • Saving Video Recordings

    If your camera is linked to record on alarms or is setup for constant recordings, you can save the recordings to your phone or computer for later use.

    • Alarm Event Recordings
      1. An email will be sent with a link to the video recording that can be downloaded to your computer or phone

    • Constant Event Recordings
      1. Log into the application and then select Video
      2. Select the camera with the recordings you want to save
      3. Under the Constant tab, select the event you want to save
      4. Then select the Download Icon
      5. You will receive an alert stating that the download may take a few minutes and another when the download is complete
