  • Why is there an exclamation point next to the Motion Detector icon on my Touchscreen?

    The red exclamation point indicates that motion was detected within the last ten minutes. This is for notification purposes, and doesn't indicate any fault with the motion. The system can be armed normally while this symbol is present.

  • How do I connect to my system with my phone?

    Protect America offers a free home security app for Apple and Android devices. Linking your phone or tablet is as easy a downloading an app and logging in with the credentials provided by your Protect America security expert! To download the app, search "Protect America" in your device's app store and download the Protect America application. If you forgot or need your login credentials, you can utilize the Live chat feature on the right to speak to a representative.

  • How do I Arm and Disarm my wireless alarm?

    To arm your system, simply press "Press to Arm" and select either "Stay" or "Away" to arm. Selecting "Stay" will arm your Door & Window sensors and any Glass Break sensors, but will not arm Motion Sensors. Selecting "Away" will arm all sensors in the home. Cellular and internet based Protect America wireless home security systems are also interactive, so you can arm and disarm from a smartphone with our free app.

  • How do I set the time and date on my system?

    Press the "Settings" icon on the bottom right corner of the screen and then press the "Down" arrow until you see the "Set Date/Time" option and press "Enter" next to it. Enter in your Master Code and press "OK". Select the Hours and Minutes boxes to enter in the correct time press the AM/PM box to toggle between the two options. To set the date, select the corresponding boxes (MM/DD/YYYY) and enter in the correct date. Select "Close" twice to exit back to the main screen.

    Your system keeps track of any issues or errors on all of your alarm equipment. If anything is not working properly, such as low batteries or communication issues with the sensors, the panel will start beeping. Press the settings icon on the bottom right of the screen and then press the "Listen" button to hear what the issue is. This will also silence the beeps for 4 hours.

  • What do I do if my system has a low battery?

    The back up batteries for most systems last around 2 -3 years before they need to be replaced. Replacement batteries can be purchased from Protect America by either contacting our Live Chat team or by calling our support team at 1-800-951-5111 (option 4). You can also contact these teams if you need guidance or assistance as well.
