  • Changing the Codes on Your Simon XT

    Your Simon XT Alarm system has several codes that you can change at your convenience, including 1 Master Code and 8 User codes. These can be changed at the panel itself or via the Protect America or Alarm.com websites, depending on which application you use.

    • Changing Codes at the Panel
      1. While your system is Disarmed, press the Down Arrow until the screen shows System Programming
      2. Press OK followed by your current 4 digit master code, then press OK again
      3. If the screen is showing Access Codes, press OK
      4. Use the Up Arrow or Down Arrow to scroll to the code to change or add
      5. Press OK and enter in the new code and press OK again to save it
      6. Press Status fours times to return to the Disarmed screen

    • Changing Codes on the Protect America Interactive Website
      1. Select Alarm Control above or click this link here and login to website
        • The login credentials are the same as the Protect America app
      2. Then select Contacts
      3. To add a new code, select Add Contact, otherwise select the Edit Icon next to the contact you want to edit
      4. Enter in the new code in the Pin section

    • Changing Codes on the Alarm.com Website
      1. Click this link here and login to the Alarm.com website
        • The login credentials are the same as the Alarm.com app
      2. Select Users
      3. To add a new code, select Add New User, otherwise select the ··· next to the contact you want to edit and select Edit
      4. Select the Panels option and enter in a 4 digit code and then Save

  • Does the panel have to announce a door or window being opened every time?

    The chime is what causes this, and it can be easily turned off. On the main keypad, press the down arrow on the upper right corner until you see ‘chime’ on the screen. Press ‘ok,’ then press the arrow until ‘off’ is displayed, then press ok to save. Finally, press status until the screen says disarmed. You may turn the chimes on again using the same method if desired.

  • How do I connect to my system with my phone?

    Protect America offers a free home security app for Apple and Android devices. Linking your phone or tablet is as easy a downloading an app and logging in with the credentials provided by your Protect America security expert! To download the app, search "Protect America" in your device's app store and download the Protect America application. If you forgot or need your login credentials, you can utilize the Live chat feature on the right to speak to a representative.

  • How do I set the clock on my system?

    Press the "Down" arrow located on the right side of the system until you see "Set Clock" on the screen. Press the "OK" button and enter in your Master Code and press "OK" twice. While the hours are flashing, type in the current hour and then press "OK" to go the the minutes. Enter in the minutes and then press "OK" and use the "Up" or "Down" arrow to change the AM/PM to the correct time and press "OK". Press the "Status" button twice to exit the "Set Clock" menu.

  • How should I arm my system when I'm asleep?

    Your system has a feature where you can remove the countdown time when entering your home or business called "No Entry Delay". This means that if someone tries to break in through an area where you normally have a time period to disarm the system, the alarm goes off immediately instead of counting down. To arm your system with "No Entry Delay", press the "Doors & Windows" button a second time when arming the system and you'll hear it announce "No Entry Delay" and your "Doors & Windows" button will start flashing.

  • How do I arm my system?

    There are multiple ways to arm your system. If you are staying inside and want to arm your system, press the "Doors & Windows" button once to arm the perimeter of your home or business. If you are away, press the "Doors & Windows" button once, following by the "Motions" button to arm both the perimeter and interior of your home or business.

    The back up batteries for most systems last around 2 -3 years before they need to be replaced.
