  • How can I enable or disable notifications?

    On the Settings page in the app select "Notifications". From there you can turn all notifications on/off or enable/disable individual notification types. For email and text notifications, log into www.protectamericainteractive.com using the same credentials as the application. Under “Account”, click “Contacts.” Select the user you’d like to change notification settings for, and click the arrow on the right to expose options. Click on the “email alert” or “text alert” icons to turn these options on and off. To change where the notification is sent, select the pencil icon next to the contact name.

  • Under the Video Mode section, what do the "RTSP" and "MJPG" options do?

    The Video Mode section controls how your cameras live stream video and the options available to you while viewing live video. If you select "RTSP" (Real-Time Streaming Protocol), you will be able to take snapshots and listen in/speak through your camera (if available). If you select "MJPG" (Motion-JPEG), the live video will load faster and use less data, but you will not able to listen in/speak through your camera (if available).

  • What do the Add/Edit/Remove Z-Wave Device options mean?

    These options are how you can add, edit, or remove your smart home devices to your Protect America account and alarm system. Select the option you want to perform and follow the prompts on the screen.

  • When I am adding/removing my Z-Wave device, it say to press the "Bind Button". Where can I find that on my device?

    Each Z-Wave device has it's own unique bind button, so you will need refer to the Installation FAQs or manual for your particular device. If you are looking at the product's manual, this information is usually found in the "Enrollment", "Network Inclusion/Exclusion", or "Adding to a Network" sections of the manual.

  • How can I add my camera through the application?

    On the Settings page of the application, select "Add Camera" and then select the type of camera you are adding in. Then enter in what you want to name the camera then enter in the camera DID. The DID can be found on the back of the camera, or you can scan in the QR code on the camera as well. At this point, power up the camera and select your method of connection to setup your Wi-Fi.

  • What does the "Optimize Network" option do?

    The "Optimize Network" option is there to help Z-Wave devices communicate better. If you ever move a Z-Wave device in your home/business, or if they are slow/inconsistent, then performing the "Optimize Network" option may improve the functionality and reaction time of your Z-Wave devices.
