Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are some advantages of the garage door controller?

    keyboard_arrow_down

The garage door controller allows you to remotely open your garage door from the same centralized location that your other devices function from. It also gives you the ability to see if the door is open or closed remotely.

  • Can I still use my existing garage door opener fob and keypad?

    keyboard_arrow_down

Yes, these will still work with the garage door controller.

  • How does the Garage Door Sensor work?

    keyboard_arrow_down

The Garage Door Sensor extends intrusion protection to garage structures, enabling users to regularly monitor the door's opening for complete home security. The sensor relies on a tilt that is activated when the garage door is lifted open. When in the upright position, the system will read the sensor as OK. The alarm will sound when it tilts - which is why it is important to place it at the top of the door. This allows for a faster tilt.

  • What do I need for the garage door opener controller to work?

    keyboard_arrow_down

You'll need a working garage door motor that can be controlled by some kind of switch for the controller to connect to. The garage door and motor must be in good condition: opening and closing without any assistance. The garage door controller must typically be within Z-Wave operating range of the main panel, which is typically less than 30 feet. Other Z-Wave devices may be added as repeaters to extend this range.
