After the current account holder submits a change of responsibility request, Protect America will attempt to contact the new potential owner within 24 hours. Once contacted, the new owner will need to provide two contact phone numbers, an email address, the address where the system will be monitored, and their Social Security Number (SSN). Once all information is collected, the new potential owner is emailed an online document to sign that allows the transfer of service to take place. A credit check is required for the potential new owner. All paperwork must be completed within 15 days otherwise the transaction is cancelled. Once the Change of Responsibility paperwork is received and approved, it is processed within 48-72 hours.
